Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working person with a positive attitude and excellent people skills to join our busy but dedicated Bexley Cardiology team.

The community service is a complex sub-speciality within Cardiovascular due to the nature of working with third party companies to conduct diagnostics, track patients and liaise with all stakeholders. It is paramount that the post holder will be confident and dedicated to managing 3 services which require high level of attention and prioritisation skills.

Main duties of the job

The Patient Pathway Coordinator (PPC) will lead on the clinic letters for the service diverted from consultants, actively managing our community system IPMC2 and retrospectively checking with both EPIC and IPMC2. Furthermore, tracking of patient pathways and understanding the patient pathway management in depth. By working closely with a wide range of clinical and managerial staff and providing a high standard of administrative support, the post holder will ensure patients receive treatment as soon as possible and help ensure national targets are met.

Depending on the requirements of the service, the post holder may be required to rotate within the team and provide cover in the case of absence. This ensures that at every point of contact with the Trust, patients are able to speak to staff who understand their scheduling needs and that clinical teams are always supported by knowledgeable administrative staff.

We are seeking a dedicated, motivated, strong communicator, and proactive person to join our team to help us provide high quality care to our service.

The post holder will provide administrative and secretarial support to the Cardiology Consultants. You must enjoy working in a busy and fast paced environment and be able to prioritise your own workload. You will need good interpersonal skills, be IT literate and be able to work as a part of the team.

The ideal candidate must be highly organised with exemplary prioritisation skills, be able to work to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential for this role as they will often be the first point of contact for doctors, nurses, managers and patients. You must have a knowledge and understanding of patient confidentiality and be flexible in your approach to working at Bexley Cardiology.

This role will also provide high quality liaison with counterparts in other organisations. Tasks will include some secretarial duties, customer service, maintaining databases, booking appointments, scanning and processing referrals.

Qualifications/Education

Essential

Good general education, maths and English GCSE or equivalent Diploma/NVQ 3/City & Guilds level in business admin or equivalent

IT qualification/training Customer service qualification/training Evidence of continual professional development short courses

Previous Experience

Essential

Experience of fast-paced high-volume customer service Admin experience Experience with data collection and presentation, and data quality issues
