As a Due Diligence Specialist, you will work closely with the Best Practice Principles (BPP), Responsible Sourcing, and Due Diligence Lead to drive and implement due diligence programs and policies across the diamond value chain. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and uphold our commitment to ethical business practices.
Key responsibilities include (but not limited to)
Implement due diligence programmes and policy commitments, focusing on regulatory compliance and business integrity. Establish risk-based procedures and processes to meet legislative and policy frameworks. Evaluate counterparties through risk-based research and present findings to relevant stakeholders. Drive enhanced due diligence requests for higher-risk counterparties, working with third-party providers. Provide training and awareness to internal business units on due diligence requirements. Contribute to the evolution of Service Level Agreements within the De Beers Group. Undertake due diligence reviews on group structures for counterparties. Review and verify changes to Sightholder groups and validate deactivation requests. Conduct annual due diligence checks and manage ad hoc requests. Collaborate with legal teams to monitor the legislative landscape. Participate in and present due diligence findings to relevant working groups and committees. Work closely with compliance teams, and sales teams and third-party providers to monitor changes in client structures and legislation.A full job description will be provided prior to interview
Qualifications: Excellent oral and written communication skills Sound understanding of and experience in due diligence requirements, particularly in Anti-Money laundering and business integrity. Previous experience in due diligence, ethical supply chains or corporate responsibility is advantageous. Strong project and time management skills. Proactive and self-motivated with sound knowledge of business principles. Numerate with good presentation skills. Strong knowledge of due diligence legislative frameworks in one or more of our key markets is desirable (UK, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, USA) Degree and/or qualification in a relevant subject is desirable.-
