As a Manager, you will work directly with the VAT Partners and Directors as an integral member of the wider team in Scotland. You will contribute to providing excellent client service and technical VAT advice for our clients.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a client portfolio with a higher level of client responsibility and oversee your team's portfolios.
  • Provide high-quality VAT consultancy services to our clients.
  • Support, develop, and review the work undertaken by our junior team members and graduates.
  • Work in collaboration with other areas of the business such as Direct Tax, Employment Tax, and our Business Advisory teams.
Key Accountabilities
  • VAT Expertise: Demonstrate varied VAT experience, either within accountancy firms, industry, or HMRC.
  • Self-Sufficiency: Operate largely self-sufficiently with minimal input from senior staff.
  • Client Management: Proactively manage clients and work, taking ownership of your portfolio and dealing with more complex or higher risk clients.
  • Teamwork: Work both autonomously and as part of a team.
Skills & Experience
  • An in-depth, up-to-date knowledge of VAT and the ability to handle complex issues.
  • Experience in managing projects and staff.
  • Ability to manage a client portfolio profitably while actively seeking and developing opportunities for both existing and new clients.
  • Experience in dealing with senior management of clients and HMRC.
  • CTA qualified, or possess demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Take personal responsibility for your own decisions and actions.
