About the function:

The Commercial function will shape and influence the commercial direction for Diageo and deliver accelerated growth in partnership with our customers to ensure our iconic brands are available for our consumers everyday, everywhere. The function focuses on key commercial areas capabilities including Revenue and Category growth management, Shopper and Customer marketing, Customer Management and Field Sales Excellence; and will establish standards, frameworks, policies, as well as accelerate commercial capabilities globally. In addition, this team is set up such that it can drive simplification and deployed against strategic commercial priorities in an agile way.

About the role:

As the Global Commercial Transformation Manager you will partner with the local market teams to execute and embed global commercial transformation initiatives. You play a critical in accelerating performance through building enhanced commercial standards and capabilities throughout the organisation.

Top Accountabilities

Partner with the Global Commercial and Transformation Director to understand the scope of the identified commercial initiative as well as key business partners to engage with. Be the catalyst for organizational behaviour change, leading to the markets and our partners continually improving their standards, capabilities, and business results. Lead execution of the commercial transformation initiatives in line with defined outcomes. Coach and mentor the market teams to roll out and embed their commercial transformation initiatives. Lead learning sessions to identify capability gaps and potential improvements for future initiatives. Support commercial capability building initiatives across the markets to accelerate performance. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance commercial standards and deliverables.

About You

A proven sales leader with +8 years of experience in commercial roles; Field Sales Leadership and Key Account Management required; Distributor Management, Revenue Growth Management beneficial.

A proven track record leading and embedding change in the commercial function at global, regional or market level within a multinational organisation.

A commercial/business qualification is highly preferred.

Commercial competence – Has deep understanding of business end to end and commercial, to be used in finding optimal solutions to commercial problems.

Performance driven - Has an acute focus on performance and results, holds himself/herself accountable for performance and determined to win.

Problem solving – and critical thinking, able to accurately assess problems and come up with effective solutions as well as using data and insight to provoke and inspire a different future.

Influencing – works collaboratively with their team and business partners across the business and compel other to drive better business outcomes; with an ability to influence thru the organization from GM to front line sales

Agile - Demonstrates pace and urgency, responding quickly to emerging threats and opportunities, an ability to navigate matrix organisation.

Personally resilient – able to maintain motivation and emotional balance in the face of pressure and high-performance expectation.
