Alkegen is a global leader in high-performance specialty fibers and inorganic materials used in high-temperature industrial, automotive, and fire protection applications. Today, Alkegen is active in emerging technologies, from electric vehicle battery protection and new solar power storage applications to advanced cryogenic insulation media for storage of cryogenic liquids.

The company has 57 manufacturing facilities in 12 countries and a sales presence in all the world’s major industrial regions, including North America, South America, Europe, Australia, Asia, and South Africa. Alkegen has four divisions being Industrial, Sealing, & Construction, Filtration and Catalysis, and Battery and Mobility.
Responsibilities:
To take overall responsibility for the financial management of the site
Take ownership of key financial controls ensuring that they are rigorously adhered to and that the company is fully compliant with internal and external audits
To liaise with the Corporate Finance Department on financial matters
Financial Management
Lead month end close process including preparation/approval of journal entries, reconciliations, and reports
Analyze transactions throughout the month to verify accuracy
Ensure that departmental managers have timely and accurate information to manage delegated budgets, providing advice and assistance as required.
Prepare Internal Quarterly Financial Reporting Package
Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances to budget/forecast to help the business identify ways to improve/deliver its financial goals for the site
Act as a business partner to other departments to obtain/convey information and complete analytics
Work with internal and external audit responding to requests and providing support
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency in the plant processes and assist in executing
Develop and maintain product costing to update standard costs annually
Support analytics of site performance, long term financial planning and capital expenditure
Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with USGAAP and UKGAAP applicable regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
Reviewing and support
Communication & Relationships
Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers.
Provide guidance, support, and help develop the accounting processes and systems including attending meetings as and when required and providing ongoing accounting support including carrying out key monthly tasks.
Analytical and Judgemental Skills
To analyse complex situations, drawing well-reasoned conclusions without bias, prejudice, or discrimination
To demonstrate and encourage creative thinking and innovation
To generate ideas and solutions that add value to the Company
To anticipate the key issues which are critical to the success of the Company
Qualifications/ Experience
Qualified Accountant (ACA) / ACCA / CIMA
Experienced in Manufacturing Would Be Advantageous.
Experienced Finance Professional.
Must be able to travel for business within the UK
Current driving license
