Fairlie Healthcare Group is a leading provider of high-quality care which was established in 1999. We specialise in caring for adults with neurological conditions, as well as patients with tracheostomies, and who require ventilator support.

We currently have three homes, Fairlie House which is in West Norwood with 45 beds, Highfield House which is located in Purley with 45 beds and finally, Woodstown House in Banstead with 40 beds, which opened its doors to its first residents in April 2021. Scope

To ensure outstanding levels of care are provided to the Individuals living within the service by monitoring and improving the clinical expertise of all clinical staff (Carers, HCAs, SHCAs and Nurses) within the home by means of assessing competencies and facilitating training within the service. To facilitate learning and development in line with the core values and values framework of the service, ensuring they are embedded into daily practices of care.

Duties & Responsibilities:

We are growing our training team and are now looking for a Nurse Trainer for Highfield House in Purley. The successful candidates must be individuals with the motivation and drive to improve patient care and demonstrate Fairlie Healthcare’s Core Values in their daily work.

To support mandatory training function across Centres by supporting the management team to allocate staff for daily sessions, maintaining accurate training records and encouraging training attendance. To provide safe and competent training to facilitate the transition of staff development from Carer to Senior Healthcare Assistant through the completion of their Tracheostomy, Suctioning, Ventilator and Cough Assist competencies, following organisational career progression pathways. Work with Director of Clinical Services and L&D Manager to review, develop and implement competency documents relating to clinical competencies and clinical training pathways relevant to the need of the service and in line with current practices. To ensure clinical staff (Carers, HCAs, SHCAs and Nurses) are trained, skilled and competent to provide high quality care in relation to the delegated tasks within the scope of their roles and other health needs of the Individuals living within the service, all the while, by preserving their privacy and dignity. Seek out learning opportunities essential to the development of the employees within Fairlie Healthcare by signposting resources and actively planning learning opportunities, internal or external for all staff groups. 

Candidates should be able to demonstrate some, or all of the following:

Safe and competent patient care Understanding of, or previous experience assessing the Care Certificate Effective communication skills (writing and verbal) Excellent record keeping, auditing, and evaluation of own practice
