 Opportunity:

As Mechanical Design Engineer you will be bringing customers’ automation aspirations to life. Working across a variety of industry sectors (predominantly food & beverage and plastic container handling), you will be designing special purpose machinery and working on some truly ground-breaking projects from scratch. These projects range from solutions as a single unit but more often as part of larger / complete turnkey automation solution.

Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Project management incorporating ownership from concept, through design and build to customer sign off.
  • Design and development of new and existing components/products incorporating conceptual design and conceptualizing new automation solutions.
  • Detailing existing designs, site layout design and associated BoMs.

You:

  • Suitably qualified (mechanical engineering degree or equivalent preferred) and/or 3+ years practical experience (preferably with special purpose machinery), with a solid understanding of manufacturing and its processes.
  • Working in 3D primarily (Auto Desk Inventor preferred).
  • Confident to work on own initiative, but equally to collaboration as part of a wider team.
  • Confident in liaising with clients.
  • A keen eye for detail and able to work to strict timescales.
  • Own driving licence required due to site not being covered by public transport.
  • Ability to travel when required (domestically/ internationally).
  • UK/EU passport holder.
