Overview of the role

To join a team of engineers working on a defined work programme based around Operator Environment (Cab) design and development, including new product introduction, warranty issue resolution and product improvements.

You will be part of a team delivering varied work programmes from concept to delivery – from specification, through analysis, concept design, testing and development, to engineering sign-off.

You will also assist to support in-house quality, manufacturing, and service teams in resolving complex technical issues arising because of warranty and / or issues that lead to engineering change as the permanent solution. You will be working to design and develop a robust product of world class quality and best operator / user experience in class.

About your role

Reporting to the Development lead, roles and responsibilities will include: ·

Ergonomic reviews and simulations using Jack and advising wider team on solutions etc.A key role to the success of cab designs now and for the future, and to liaise with and advise wider team in India.Supporting of design concepts, and technical design solutions to new and existing products.Engaging with end users to support product reviews and interpret customer feedback into product brief and solutions.Formal design documentation creation, including DFMEA, DVPSOR (Test Reports), all building into requirements for technical reviews and milestones ion NPI delivery.Operator comfort improvements and assessing seat comfort.Innovative ways to reduce operator fatigue.

About you

Degree qualified in mechanical / product engineering or similar discipline with focus on Human factors.Experience of the Operator Environment + Ergonomics discipline preferred to support the general design team and product development.Experience of CAE tools including 'Jack' and 'NX',Mechanical design background preferred, ability to communicate all levels and facilitate user trials and questionnaire feedback.A sound grasp of engineering principles.Enthusiastic, self-starting and with the ability to make things happen.

Preferable attributes:

3-5 years’ experience.Understanding of the JCB NPI programme.Experience of operator environment design and or product operationExperience of Human factorsDesire to improve operator experience across our global brand.
