Job Description: We are seeking dedicated and experienced Senior Healthcare Assistants to provide leadership and support within our client's residential home in Bexhill-on-Sea. As a Senior HCA, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care and support to residents while providing guidance and supervision to junior staff members.

Shift Types: Combination of day and night shifts, average shift duration of 12-12.5 hours

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing hands-on care and assistance to residents with activities of daily living, including personal care, hygiene, and mobility assistance.
  • Supporting residents with medication administration as per care plans and protocols.
  • Acting as a role model for junior staff members, providing guidance, support, and mentorship as needed.
  • Assisting with the training and development of junior staff, ensuring compliance with mandatory training requirements.
  • Liaising with other healthcare professionals and external agencies to ensure comprehensive care plans and support for residents.
  • Monitoring and maintaining accurate records of resident care and observations.
  • Promoting a safe and supportive environment for residents and adhering to health and safety protocols.

Job Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience working as a Senior HCA in a similar setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach towards residents and colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently.
  • Drivers desirable due to rural location.
