Project Engineer
Location: Skelmersdale

JRL Group is seeking a Project Engineer to lead all quality and engineering processes at our manufacturing facility in Skelmersdale, Lancashire. This requires strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills and high quality standards.

Role & Responsibilities:

Lead the quality control processes within the precast facility throughout the entire manufacturing process, including: Scrutinising the Construction Status Unit drawings for buildability - prior to putting into the production workflow – liaising directly with the project technical lead Working with the manufacturing team to facilitate any technical queries during manufacture Pre and post pour inspections and compiling QA documentation Managing the concrete QA processes Leading any precast unit aftercare requirements, communicating directly with the site team Working closely with the Operations and Planning teams – Assist in the preconstruction and planning of the works within the facility Provide technical leadership and guidance to the Manufacturing Team at all levels, working directly with senior management, planners, procurement, operations management and the workforce. Becoming an integrated, key member of the team Provide a high level of presence and support on the manufacturing floor, whilst balancing desktop responsibilities Manage all aspects of Temporary works Support the operations teams, with briefings and leadership with the workforce where appropriate Take a personal responsibility for health and safety, leading all aspects where directly involved and taking a ‘don’t walk by’ attitude elsewhere, whilst supporting others.

Requirements:

Must have extensive RC construction experience, including precast concrete components: supply, install or manufacture. Must have a high level of experience in quality control processes, as well as document management systems and processes. Must be experienced in managing design. Must be competent in interpreting reinforcement detailing. Must be able to read and interpret all types of construction drawings, GAs, Sections, Temporary Works, Reinforcement. Must have good knowledge of temporary works, formwork and falsework. Must be able to use Microsoft Office and AutoCAD to a reasonable standard. Must be able to read and understand programmes and specifications. Material call off experience desirable. Experience writing RAMs, Briefing and managing operatives desirable. Construction Degree Qualified. UK Experience – good level of English reading and writing required. SMSTS, 1st Aid & valid CSCS card. Outgoing and communicative personality traits desirable.
