Emergency Planner

Location : Durrington

Hours : Full-time, Monday – Friday (38 hrs)

Contract : Fixed term contract until 28/02/2025

Salary : £31,000

Are you passionate about ensuring community safety and resilience during emergencies? We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Emergency Planner to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the planning, coordination, and response efforts to safeguard our community during unforeseen events.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Emergency Planner, your primary responsibilities will include:

Creating Emergency Plans to ensure that we are prepared to respond to unexpected events and incidents, with a focus on minimising the impact to our customers and protecting the environment.

Regularly reviewing, testing, and enhancing emergency plans and procedures to ensure their continued fitness for purpose.

Supporting the planning and delivering of exercises, including High Impact Low Likelihood (HILL) scenarios, for all levels within the business as well as external stakeholders.

Engaging with industry organisations, external and internal stakeholders, and regulators to share best practices and build strong working relationships.

As a Category 2 Responder, you will be required to engage with Local Resilience Forums to effectively warn and inform about potential or actual risks.

Frequent attendance at Local Resilience Forum meetings and exercises to stay informed and contribute to and support regional resilience efforts.

This role carries an on-call responsibility where you will be involved in the coordination of emergency response efforts and ensure the availability of alternative water supplies during incidents.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Previous experience in document, policy, or process writing.

Previous experience within the emergency planning sector.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with stakeholders at various levels – both internal and external.

Proactive and adaptable approach to evolving situations and problem solving.
