Job summary

Weare looking for an enthusiastic team player to join the nurses team at ParksideFamily Practice. We are a very friendly, 2 site practice in Oxfordshire and Berkshire ICB).We have over 17,500patients and need someone who is keen to take on an active Nurse role.

Weare a training practice and high QoF achievers.

Main duties of the job

The applicant will need to be able to practice independently in accordance with all protocols and procedures and referring to a GP when needed.

Be up to date with all aspects of nursing including complex wound control, diabetes care, health promotion and all treatment room duties.

About us

We are a busy local practice based at two sites, one in Woodley and the other in Earley. We have five partners and five salaried GP's as well as a strong nursing team including HCA's, pharmacists, trainee GP's, and a reception and administration team.

We have regular meetings with a proactive manager as well as social functions in the year.

1.Practiceindependently in accordance with Parkside Family Practice policies, procedures,protocols and code of conduct. Appropriately referring to GPs when needed.Fully understanding and following NursePGDs

2.Maintainaccurate documentation of care and utilisation of

3.Ensurecontinuation of own personal and professional development facilitated by utilisationof clinical supervision networks.

4.Shareresponsibility for ensuring effective inter-Practice communication.

5.Ensureskills are appropriately and effectively used to deliver care.

6.Ensurecare is delivered by Practice Nurse Team members with relevant and appropriateskills.

7.Ensurean effective Nurse Appointment system, in collaboration with Practice Manager.

8.Ensurethat efficient and appropriate stock control is in place.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

It is essential to be a commited team player dedicated to patient care always putting what is best for their on going welfare at the front of everything you do and able to work under pressure. Dealing with vulnerable patients with care and empathy and able to get along with other departments in the practice.

Desirable

Previous experience of NHS IT systems would be useful but training will be given.

Qualifications

Essential

Up to date revalidation, knowledge of diabetic care, child immunisations, knowledge of injectable medication, complex wound care, dedicated to infection control and meeting CGC standards, cytology, up to date with QOF guidelines, travel vaccinations, safeguarding, full ability to undertake the 6 C's in nursing and always promoting health care.

Desirable

The applicant would have a Bachelor Degree in nursing, previous urgent PGN experience, knowledge of COPD care. Previous knowledge of Emis, Word, Excel, Docman is useful but training will be given on all IT systems.
