As Assistant Gardener, you’ll be working with a team to deliver the day-to-day care of the garden and maintain high presentation standards. This role will include a range of practical tasks to develop, improve and look after the garden and contribute to the delivery of projects. Hours: Part time 18.75 hours per week, flexible and includes weekends  Salary: £11.64 per hour Contract: Permanent  Interviews: 2nd or 4th July - TBC

What it's like to work here

In this role, you’ll report to the Head Gardener, as well as working with the gardener and our team of dedicated garden volunteers (approx 40).

What you'll be doing

Daily responsibilities may include assisting with the planting and maintaining of shrub and borders, mulching, hedge cutting and lawn mowing. You’ll talk to the public every day, answering a variety of garden-related questions and talking about what you are doing with pride.

There will be the requirement to work weekends in term times & bank holidays. We’re looking for someone with a practical approach to work, getting the day-to-day work done and a passion for plants. The role can sometimes be physically challenging , and we use a wide range of machinery and equipment to help us get our work done.
