Job summary

The successful candidate will be required to support andenhance the professional psychological and neuro-psychological care of residentswithin Castel Froma Neuro Care. To provide a specialist clinical service toindividuals with neurological conditions and their families, as well as seniorsupport within the multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

Towork autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibilityfor the systematic governance of psychological practice within in theservice/team and within the overall framework of CFNC policies and procedures. To advise on complex clinicaldecision making. To use knowledge and experience to support with implementingACP-UK plans; cognitive rehabilitation programmesand targeted psychological intervention.

About us

CastelFroma Neuro Care runs two care centre sites, Lillington House &Helen Ley for those with neurological conditions and brain injury.

Weprovide 24 hour nursing care as well as therapies, including physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language,psychology and dietetics.

Staff at CFNC work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT). Thisinvolves bringing together professionals of different backgrounds to work as a team in devising and implementing care packages to meet theindividual needs and requirements of each resident.

Job description

Job responsibilities

- To ensure the systematic provision of a highquality, safe and specialist psychology service.

- To work autonomously developing pathways forpsychology across the service, engaging with multidisciplinary teams within andacross services.

- To work collaboratively within themultidisciplinary team (consisting of physiotherapists, occupationaltherapists, speech and language therapists, dieticians, nursing, care andneurorehabilitation consultants).

- To provide psychological andneuropsychological assessment and therapy, offering advice and consultation ontreatment plans.

- To work autonomously within professionalpractice guidelines and the overall framework of Castel Froma’s policies andprocedures.

- To exercise full responsibility and autonomyfor the treatment of individuals. To ensure appropriate assessment, formulationand interventions, accurate documentation and maintaining regular communicationwith others involved with care.

- To manage demand for clinical service withinCastel Froma Neuro Care, report on and make recommendations regarding serviceprovision.

- To provide supervision of junior staff interand multidisciplinary as required.

Experience

Essential

To demonstrate specialist psychological expertise in assessment and evidence based approaches

Desirable

Experience of working in neuropsychology

Qualifications

Essential

-Hold a doctorate level qualification in clinical psychology, counselling psychology or health psychology, as accredited by BPS. -HCPC registration as Practitioner Psychologist. -Full member of the BPS division of clinical, health or counselling psychology.

Desirable

Hold a clean driver's licence and own a car
