We are looking for a highly motivated professional Night Porter to join our team at The Barnsdale.


Our hotel overlooks the beautiful Rutland landscape with a picturesque courtyard, a kitchen brigade providing fine dining using many ingredients sourced from the wealth of fine produce found in the locality. You will:  



  • Provide limited food and drinks service to resident guests after hours.
  • Check in any late arrivals and keep all Front of House areas clean and tidy.
  • Ensure the hotel is locked up and all is safe and secure.
  • Some minor admin/clerical duties including evening report daily.
  • Be the responsible Person and enforce fire safety procedures.
  • Liaise with emergency services where necessary.
  • Set up breakfast for the hotel guests.
  • Maintain a professional and high-quality service environment at all times.
  • Act as manager on duty for the hotel in absence of other senior managers, deal with complaints, problem solving, disturbances, special requests and any other issues.
  • Show initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Assist the day teams with preparation required for a successful operation. 
  • Monitoring and maintaining safety compliance standards to adhere to current legislation
