Due to the partnership between Hays and Birmingham City Council, we are looking for a Asbestos Quality Manager to join the team on a full-time temporary basis. Being the largest leading local authority in the whole of Europe, Birmingham City Council are renowned for their expertise in public services and endless opportunities. Birmingham City Council provides the city’s residents with a number services to ensure stability within citizens daily lives.
Your new role 
As a Asbestos Quality Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management, performance, legislative compliance and technical direction of the asbestos analytical service of the laboratories. You will develop the commercial strategies for the asbestos service to meet financial targets, and oversee the quality system to ensure retention of the UKAS accreditation. This includes: This includes:

Management and development of the quality systemManagement of the quality procedures and associated documentationPlanning and management of technical and system audits Supervision of training plans and assessment of staffEffective management of non-conformities and associated corrective/preventative actionsManagement of quality records and controlled documentsIdentify resource requirements with respect to the quality systemMaintenance of relationship with UKASMaintenance of internal and external quality control schemesWhat you'll need to succeed 
To be successful in securing this role, you will need to have experience in a similar role and to also hold an appropriate Certificate of Medical Examination with respect to the requirements of Regulation 16 of the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations. This role will be an ASAP start, which before starting you will need to pass your reference, compliance, and driving checks, upon registration please have your 2 most recent employment details available.
