Part 2 Architectural Assistant/Technologist

DescriptionStudio PDP is looking for a Part 2 Architectural Assistant/Technologist with experience in detailing and delivery to work on an exciting landmark retrofit/enerphit project in London. 

We are particularly interested in candidates with retrofit and sustainable/low energy design experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • To assist the development of the architects design by analysing building regulations, space requirements, survey information, reports and other technical documents 
  • Preparation, coordination and communication of technical information including drawings, reports and schedules and specification
  • Technical detailing 
  • Ensure the required statutory regulations are met
  • Obtaining, recording and organising information
  • Calculating U-values and assisting the team with envelope technical details
  • Preparation of regulatory applications
  • To weigh up technical problems and provide detailed design solutions
  • Design stage risk assessments and monitor health and safety in design
  • Liaise between members of the design and construction team
  • On site inspection of work, and dealing with Contractor queries
  • Keeping up to date with new construction methods, materials and technology 
  • Internal audit of drawings and specifications carried out at relevant stages of the project


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Experience of using Revit to a high standard along with other software packages
  • Experience in retrofit
  • An understanding of low energy design
  • PassivHaus knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledge of building regulations
  • Manual drawing skills
  • The ability to think laterally
  • A high level of attention to detail and ability to check and correct your own and other’s work accurately
  • Good at following things through to completion, with consistency
  • A strong work ethic, which is demonstrated in your personal approach and also communicated to others
  • Able to work to deadlines
  • To be able to work on your own initiative
