If so, we have the perfect opportunity for youOur secondary schools in Chelmsford are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated English teacher to join their team in September. 

As a Secondary English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons to students aged 11-16, helping them to develop their literacy skills and a love for the subject.Key

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all students
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and support
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies
  • Contribute to the wider school community through participation in extracurricular activities and events

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the English curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Experience of teaching English at secondary level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of teaching English at Key Stage 5
  • A relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in English
  • Experience of leading or contributing to curriculum development
