Royal Leamington Spa, United Kingdom Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust Full time

Job summary

We have a post for a band 5 Registered Professional within the team that we are looking to recruit to. They can be from any professional discipline - Nursing, Occupational therapy or Social Work. No matter which profession you are from you will be supported to maintain and utilise your specialist skills.

As part of the Transformation of services , the two current Teams, Community Mental Health & Wellbeing Team and The Recovery Team are being joined together to make a Community Mental Health Team aligned to GP's . This will mean that we will cover a broad spectrum of diagnosis and presentations including people with emotional regulation difficulties, schizophrenia, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, OCD symptoms, and psychotic depression

Our Team covers the locality of South Warwickshire. We have bases, one in Leamington Spa and Stratford Upon Avon and we work across both bases.

Main duties of the job

The team has invested in considerable staff training and development over the years to develop skills with working with our patient group. Working within an established team, you'll be managing a caseload of clients who have complex mental health problems across all diagnostic presentations and delivering a range of interventions. You will have the opportunity to gradually build your skills and confidence as part of a multi-disciplinary team, using evidence-based approaches.. You'll be communicating with a wide variety of clients; professionals; partners and agencies.

As part of working in our team you will be working with some individuals who can present as chaotic & emotionally dysregulated. This can be a challenging patient group; however, this team has a positive attitude & non-judgemental approach toward this patient group, understanding what has brought them to their current presentation, recognising individual strengths and establishing clear, focussed, professional relationships that identify clear boundaries and expectations for both the patient and clinician. This empowers both patient and clinician to see what can be achieved through clear collaborative care planning. Those patients with a psychotic presentation may be managed through shared care within the team. This allows the sharing of responsibility, skills and knowledge. This offers the opportunity for staff to develop their role whilst being supported and guided by more experienced clinicians.

About us

Working for our Team offers you the opportunity to develop some excellent specialist skills and take part in imaginative and effective interventions. Time is spent investing in your development and there are lots of opportunities to shadow colleagues on duty, during assessments and on visits when you first join us. There are a lot of training opportunities within the team and time is given to allow you to access this. This will allow you to confidently undertake the role of case management eventually leading to managing a full caseload, being part of a duty team and undertaking trusted assessments. The nature of the team means that you bring your knowledge, experience, enthusiasm and empathy and are exposed to the knowledge and skills of other colleagues within the team which promotes growth and development within your own practice at an accelerated rate. We are a team that recognises the work we do can be difficult at times and we have a strong supportive approach- both in professional matters and passing on good practice, learning and sharing risk but also when it impacts on us personally. They are well spaced, and this is something the team feel adds to the varying levels of support and shared responsibility.

Job description

Job responsibilities

We see this as an ideal opportunity to develop more specialist skills. A willingness and enthusiasm to learn new skills and develop your practice is vital.

This team provides interventions on a one to one basis and group formats. You will have the opportunity to participate in groups and you will be given training within the team for this. Above all it is vital that you have a sense of humour if you wish to join our team.
