Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a small, friendly team at Severnbank Surgery as a Care Navigator. The role will primarily consist of a professional 'front-of-house' service for the practice, dealing with patients and other visitors. In addition, a variety of other administrative tasks, as determined by need and competency, in order to support the work of delivering high quality services to patients of the practice.

Main duties of the job

Meet and greet patients and other visitors to the surgery Make appointments, using triage methods to ascertain patients' needs. Take general enquiries and telephone messages and ensure they are actioned or passed to the appropriate recipient. Undertake a variety of clerical duties, as required. Maintain good communications with team members and outside agencies. Undertake mandatory training in line with the requirememts of the role and practice. Have a flexible approach to cover other members of staff.

Severnbank Surgery is a semi-rural GP Practice situated in the town of Lydney, covering some 3800 patients. The Practice is a Partnership, with a well-established, experienced and supportive team, both clinical and administrative.

Qualifications

Essential

Good standard of general education. Clear legible writing. Computer literacy - however, full training will be provided. Confident telephone manner. Understanding of confidentiality issues. Flexible attitude to availability. Working with others as part of a team. Calm disposition in times of crisis.

Desirable

Experience of SystmOne. NHS background.
