Senior Project Manager

We're looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Kier Transportation Rail team and help deliver our Wigan to Bolton electrification project.

 

Location: Wigan to Bolton, Northwest - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required

Business Area: Kier Transportation, Rail

Contract: Full Time, Permanent– flexible and part-time hours available if desired, just let us know

 

What will your responsibilities be?

As a Senior Project Manager, you'll be working within the Kier Rail team, supporting them in the delivery of the Wigan to Bolton electrification project.

Your day to day will include:

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, and execution of specific project measures to achieve project success.
  • Managing costs and generating revenue will be a key requirement of this role and you'll manage the decision-making process by negotiating with all parties to ensure value for money.
  • Lead a safety-first culture across the project.
  • Client and stakeholder management
  • Lead and support the commercial teams in securing maximum sustainable value from contracts, and in settling subcontracts at a fair level reflective of the subcontractor's price and performance.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Relevant qualifications – degree level, or equivalent experience
  • Strong Project Management skills with a good understanding of Target Cost contracts.
  • Have demonstrable competence in a transportation related project environment.
  • Detailed understanding of the CDM and health and safety legislation.
