An SEN school based in Bodmin, Cornwall is currently seeking an SEN Teacher to start as soon as possible. The school caters for young people across KS1-4 who have additional needs. The students have a range of needs that include childhood trauma, social anxiety, school phobia, Autism, ADHD, ODD and more.

Key Responsibilities of a Class Teacher: 

  • As a Class Teacher you will plan and deliver creative and stimulating lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students. 
  • Establish a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages participation, collaboration, and respect. As a Class Teacher you will assess student progress regularly and use data to inform instructional decisions. 
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students and provide additional support or challenge as needed. 
  • As a Class Teacher you will collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to support student learning and well-being. 
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school's ongoing improvement initiatives. 

Qualifications and Requirements of a Class Teacher: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field (PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification preferred). 
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) , NQT or equivalent certification. 
  • Degree in Science
  • Proven experience teaching in a primary school setting, preferably with experience across multiple year groups (ECT's encouraged to apply). 
  • Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices. 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. 
  • A passion for working with children and a commitment to promoting their academic, social, and emotional development. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute positively to the school community. 
  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
