Permanent, full time contract

About the Role

Are you passionate about print and eager to support a dynamic team of staff and students? Join our Print Team as we explore and innovate across a variety of print mediums and techniques.

You’ll need a blend of knowledge and confidence to thrive in the dynamic and diverse learning landscape, where you'll assist students at all levels in achieving their printing goals, whether through digital printing, screen printing, or other traditional techniques. As a successful applicant, you'll not only collaborate with the existing print team but also have the freedom to showcase your expertise in one-on-one sessions and larger group settings.

Your role involves the hands-on task of testing, maintaining, and servicing equipment. You’ll be at the forefront, ensuring the gears of our print facilities run smoothly for an engaging and seamless learning experience.

As the ideal candidate, you will have a keen interest and foundational knowledge in the following areas:

Bookmaking:  An interest and understanding in the skills required to successfully create and bind books using traditional techniques. Digital Printing: Proficiency in both large format and spot colour printing, understanding print profiles, and using print RIP software. Dyes and Application: Understanding of reactive and acid dyes, as well as natural dyes, and their application techniques. Letterpress Printing: Experience with traditional letterpress and hot foiling techniques. Printmaking: Knowledge of various printmaking techniques and equipment. Risograph Printing: Familiarity with Risograph printing processes and applications. Screen Printing: Expertise in different screen printing techniques including paper, textiles, devoré, discharge, sublimation, and heat press.
