About the School:

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a KS3/4 Science teacher for an independent, therapeutic 38 week specialist boarding and day provision for boys and girls (girls are accepted as day students only) primarily with social, emotional and mental health needs aged between 5 and 19. All the students at the school have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). It was established in 2007 and aims to place an equal emphasis on the educational, social and psychological development of our students. The key to the success of the school is a strong ethos, developed by a highly experienced and capable staff, and the strength of the relationships between the staff and the learners.

Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Science lessons for KS3/4 students
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies
  • Provide support and guidance to students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in Science or related field

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in teaching Science
  • Strong understanding of SEN and experience working with students with SEN
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Team Teach certification (preferred but not essential)
