Solihull, United Kingdom Komplex Group Full time

Position: Support Worker Team Leader
Location: Solihull
Pay: 18.00 per hour
Hours: Full time flexible

Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Support Worker Team Leader to join our team. The successful candidate will carry out daily activities in line with the individualised support plan, ensuring high-quality care and support for our client with complex autism and learning disabilities.

Must hold a full UK driving licence.

Are you ready to embark on a fulfilling career journey with Komplex Care? We’re seeking a dedicated individual who is passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives. If you’re driven, compassionate, and eager to take on a new challenge, we want to hear from you

Why Komplex Care? At Komplex Care, we’re not just a care provider - we’re a family dedicated to delivering exceptional nurse-led care to individuals in the comfort of their own homes. We specialize in providing support to both adults and children nationwide, ensuring they can live full, dignified lives. With a personalised approach to care and a supportive team environment, we empower our staff to make a real impact every day.

You’ll be providing bespoke support and future care to a male, whose individual needs include:

  • Complex Autism/Learning Disability with sensory processing difficulties and challenging behaviours including rigidity, obsessions, and fluctuating arousal levels leading to Behaviours of Concern.
  • Non-speaking Autism and communication challenges.
  • Seizures and Medication.

Our client is a young adult in his early 20’s, who currently lives at home with his family, however we are looking for a team to build on his independence as he progresses to his own home. His speech is limited, and he relies on a Total Communication Approach. He enjoys going out into the community to access walks, activities like bowling and trampolining; he can find this challenging but wants support to live a varied and meaningful life.

The right candidate should be:

  • Confident and assertive when necessary, able to make quick decisions when needed.
  • Extensive experience with autism, challenging behaviours, and sensory processing difficulties.
  • Good sense of humour and fun.
  • Sensitive to changes in body language/regulation levels - identifying early warning signs that require immediate and dynamic support.
  • Supportive of the client’s aspirations to live a meaningful life and follow through with scheduled activities.
  • Happy to engage in physical activities such as long walks, trampolining, and bowling.
  • Able to drive the client’s own vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Individual Support: Provide personalised support to the client, helping him to develop essential life skills and achieve his personal goals
  • Emotional Support: Offer emotional support and companionship, helping the client feel valued and understood.
  • Personal Care: Assist with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and other daily living activities.
  • Healthcare Monitoring: Monitor the client’s health condition, administer medication, and ensure that any medical appointments are attended.
  • Community Engagement: Support the client in accessing community facilities and participating in social activities.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the client’s condition.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Team Leader, other professionals and stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to care.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the learning disabilities sector.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients.
  • Empathy: A caring and supportive attitude, with patience and sensitivity to the needs of people with different health issues.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to the varying needs of a client and handle different situations effectively.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in health and social care are often preferred.

What We Offer: Joining our team comes with a host of benefits, including:

  • Competitive salary.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Opportunities for career advancement and specialisation in various areas of care.
  • Comprehensive induction training.
  • Pension scheme and employee reward program.
  • Access to QCF/NVQ qualifications post-probation.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
