Job summary

If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Manager to oversee the Northwest Anglia Foundation Trust's departure lounges.

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic, highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join our team.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and team working skills and be dedicated to improving the patient's experience. You will be expected to be a clinical role model with a willingness to develop the team.

The post is substantive and will require cross site working to cover both of the departure lounges in operation for the Trust. The expectation will be 2 days on our Hinchingbrooke Site and 3 days on our Peterborough site.

Applicants must have significant post registration experience, with at least 2 years previous experience at Band 6 level.

Please note that we can only consider applications from individuals with a live NMC registration or UK nursing students awaiting their PIN, as we are currently unable to support OSCE.

Maintaining the effective day to day running of the lounge Ensuring that the criteria for referral to the Departure Lounge is followed and maintained Contacting the wards and departments regularly to identify the patients for transfer to the lounge Ensuring all patients leave hospital with the correct communicationdocumentation, equipment, and dressings Ensuring all patients transferred to the Departure Lounge are admitted via the E-Trac patient's administration system in order to capture arrival and departure times Report any concerns / incidents that affect safe and effective care delivery

This post requires an experienced and competent health care professional who has continuous responsibility for the leadership and management of the departure lounges.

The post holder will be responsible for achieving clinical excellence in the quality of care provided through the best use of the team, by allocating work appropriately, using resources effectively, developing and implementing policy and guidelines, and by controlling an agreed financial budget.

The post holder will also work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families and take an active part in contributing to the wider activities and strategic plans of the Trust.

An essential part of the role is to actively engage with clinical nursing teams across the trust to improve utilisation of the departure lounge in terms of increasing numbers of patients accessing the lounge and ensuring the opening hours are maximised.
