JobSummary:

  • Toprovide technical oversight and a quality assurance function acrossthe Councils domestic gas servicing repair and heating replacementprogrammes.
  • Tofulfil an audit and inspection programme to validate and monitorthe quality of gas repair and installation works across the housingportfolio including capital project works; new build andregenerationschemes.
  • Toprovide technical advice to colleagues in regards to; domestic gasboiler services; hot water and heating systems including groundsource heat pumps and associatedequipment.
  • Toundertake surveys and inspections to existing systems in order toproduce feasibility studies and business cases to support assetinvestment programmes orinnovation.
  • Toact as Contract Administrator for small project works (up to avalue of 50000) under the supervision of the Head of Compliance andM&E
  • Toreview O&M information upon receipt and in liaison with theCompliance Delivery Officer(s) and Compliance & M&EManager to ensure PPM programmes are reviewed/ updated to ensureall systems are subject to suitable maintenance testing andinspectionprogrammes.
  • Tomaintain their professional qualifications at all times orundertake new or further qualifications as required by the Head ofM&E and Compliance in furtherance of the Councils statutoryduties as aLandlord.

KeyDuties/Accountabilities(Sample):

  • Toprovide technical oversight and quality assurance to the council sdomestic testing and complianceprogrammes.
  • Tofulfil an audit and inspection programme to validate and monitorthe quality of domestic gas work across the housing and communityhall portfolios including capital project works; new build andregenerationschemes.
  • Toprovide technical advice to colleagues in regards to thespecification; repair and maintenance of gas appliances; gassupplies and carcasses; hot water services and domestic groundsource heatpumps.
  • Toundertake feasibility studies surveys and inspections of existinginstallations in order to produce schemes works and reports to ahigh professionalstandard.
  • Toact as Contract Administrator for small project works (up to avalue of50000).
  • Toreview O&M information upon receipt and in liaison with theCompliance Delivery Officer(s) ensure PPM programmes are reviewed/updated to ensure all systems are subject to suitable maintenancetesting and inspectionprogrammes.
  • Provideassistance and support to the Housing Asset Management team insupport of the Councils Asset and Sustainability strategy and widerCarbonobjectives.

Skills/Experience:

  • Atleast three years experience of working in a similar role in socialhousing or residentialenvironment.
  • Knowledgeof Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations andassociated BritishStandard.
  • Ableto review/ draft technical specifications relevant to gasinstallations
  • Knowledgeof products and performance specifications for boilers; waterheater; heating systems and ground source heatsystems.
  • Anunderstanding of the Carbon Neutral agenda and retrofit schemes insector.

AdditionalInformation:

  • Technicalqualifications or equivalent: CCN1 Core domestic gas safetycertificate; CENWAT Central heating and hot water; CKR1 cookers;HTR1 gasfires.

At least three years experience, of working in a similar role insocial housing or residential environment. Knowledge of Gas Safety(Installation & Use) Regulations and associated BritishStandards Able to review/ draft technical specifications relevantto gas installations Knowledge of products and performancespecifications for boilers; water heater; heating systems andground source heat systems. An understanding of the Carbon Neutralagenda and retrofit schemes in sector.
