Ontic, an aerospace industry leading provider of ‘Extended Life Solutions’ for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) legacy and non-core products, has an opportunity for an Engineering Project Manager to join our team based at our office in Staverton, Gloucestershire to support our continued success and ambitious growth plans.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be responsible for the execution and delivery of Engineering Projects across the lifecycle to include product introduction, product improvement and in-production/in-service support. Your remit will cover scope management, resource management, costs and schedule of technical solution.

In addition, you’ll provide project control board style data (progress and metrics) in support of the engineering projects reporting rhythm. You’ll partner closely with a dedicated Customer Program Manager and provide ‘lessons learned’ inputs to projects at the beginning of the design lifecycle.

What will you need to know?

You’ll have begun your career within Engineering before moving into Project Management, ideally with some exposure to aircraft actuation or similar products within Aerospace. Possession of a Degree (or equivalent) qualification in Engineering or a Scientific subject is preferred but not essential for success if you have gained this level of knowledge through your experience.

You’ll demonstrate a good knowledge of design lifecycle, verification and validation requirements plus production processes. You’ll have experience of using project management tools & techniques to manage costs and schedule (PRINCE2, Project Management Book of Knowledge). You’ll be able to demonstrate the use of 8D, 5Why and other Lean tools in overcoming problems.
