Apprentice HVAC Design Engineer

What you will do:

This apprenticeship is a highly skilled technical role that requires you to produce designs for a wide range of installations to customer specification both commercial/industrial and residential HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning). During the apprenticeship you will learn to produce drawings and designs using Computer Aided Design (CAD), AutoCAD and additional design & prototyping software programmes. This is a very exciting, challenging and rewarding role that will provide a start point for a lifelong career within a highly innovative and technical business environment.  The apprenticeship is 3 years in duration during which you will be trained how to produce engineering designs and drawings for Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning systems used in industrial and commercial buildings. You will attend college on a day release or block release basis depending on your location. If you are required to stay away from home the cost of travel, accommodation and meals will be covered by the company.  The aim would be to progress the apprentice through both college for technical qualifications and provide practical exposure / experience where you will learn how to carry out HVAC Design and Cad (Computer Aided Design) 

How you will do it:

On-the-Job Work Experience: You'll spend significant time at our client sites, where you will get the opportunity to put into practice skills learned at college in a real world setting. Collaboration with Qualified Engineers: Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll work closely with qualified Johnson Controls Engineers who will serve as mentors, guiding you in developing your design skills. This collaborative environment ensures that you receive the support and guidance needed to succeed in your role. You will be enrolled on a level 3 Engineering Design and Draughtsperson Apprenticeship that you will study alongside your new role. You’ll enjoy the full support of your mentor and our dedicated apprentice training team.
