Due to significant growth and contract winsOCU Services (part of the wider OCU Group) has new opportunitiesfor experienced HSE Advisors to join our wider HSE Team. Thepurpose of the role is to provide Health Safety &Environmental information advice and training to all levels anddepartments within the OCUBusiness.

Duties andResponsibilities

  • Notifyany changes in your duties to all others who may be affected bythese changes.
  • Shall ensure strict adherence tothe reporting and recording procedures for accidents and dangerousoccurrences as required under RIDDOR as directed by the SHEManager.
  • Shall be responsible for providingspecialist advice on the companys safety policy and procedures andcompliance with statutory obligations throughout the company.
  • Shall monitor arrangements to ensure thathealth and safety standards applied by contractors are satisfactoryand in accordance with contractual arrangements companyspecifications policy and procedures.
  • Shallensure that site employees work in accordance with the companyshealth and safety requirements policys and procedures along withthose of its Clients.
  • Shall recommenddisciplinary procedures where any member of site supervisory stafffails to discharge their safety responsibilities satisfactorily.
  • Shall take appropriate action when notified ofdisregard of safety on site.
  • Shall ensure theprovision of a safe and healthy working environment for personsworking in or visiting any company operation site and/or premises.
  • Shall monitor provision and effectiveness ofadequate and existing welfare facilities.
  • Promote the reporting of near missesthroughout the company.
  • You are required towork at any site on which the Company operates as authorised and asdetermined by the needs of the business. You will not be requiredto work outside the UnitedKingdom.

RequiredQualifications

  • NCRQlevel 6 / NVQ level 6 / NEBOSHdiploma
  • Minimum 5 years experienceworking in the utilities sector ( Power sectorpreferred)
  • Minimum 5 years experience Workingwithin Live Substations ( Desirable)
  • Experienceworking with management systems and the NERS Accreditation(Desirable )
  • Experience working in DNOs andIDNOs
  • EUSR or CSCS in General Health andSafety
  • Proficient in compilingreports
  • MUST HOLD CURRENT FULL UK DRIVERSLICENSE
