Job Description

Organon is hiring an Associate Principal Scientist, Chemistry to join our world class manufacturing site in Cramlington, Northumberland.  

In this role, you will Lead analytical method troubleshooting, improvement, validation and transfer activities. You will be responsible for supervising and performing data analysis/graphing and interpretation to support science-based problem resolution, draw conclusions, make recommendations, and drive informed decision making. 

 

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Author and perform analytical procedures and/or method development/improvement and validation protocols, technical reports, experimental designs, regulatory submission documents, etc. 

  • Lead and assist on investigations with strong technical troubleshooting skills.  Assist in developing/implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs). 

  • Work independently and in collaboration with multiple stakeholders, managing multiple projects and duties within the functional group/laboratory and company’s manufacturing groups. 

  • Contribute and lead technical, tech transfer or investigation projects. 

  • Mentor colleagues and junior scientists/analysts. 

  • In specific cases, provide technical documentation/technical input during inspections and audits (Regulatory and Internal). 

  • Support analytical investigations across the network, when needed 

  • Report to global analytical sciences director with dotted line to local laboratory director. 

 

Skills, Qualifications & Education: 

  • Degree in Chemistry or related discipline. 

  • Demonstrable pharmaceutical experience or familiarity in API and/or drug product. 

  • Working knowledge of developing and/or validating and/or troubleshooting analytical methods for small molecules (e.g., chromatography, dissolution, spectroscopy, etc.). 

  • Hands on analytical laboratory experience. 

  • Working knowledge of statistics and tools, e.g., design of experiments and/or statistical data treatment and/or Minitab.  

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft and other visualisation and data management tools. 

  • Demonstrated strong verbal as well as written communication skills and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team environment. 

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, showcasing flexibility and cultural sensitivity when interacting with diverse groups.
