We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Inpatient Mental Health Rehabilitation and Recovery Team at The Willows within the directorate of Adult Mental Health.
As a Specialist Mental Health Occupational Therapist, you will work within a Multi Disciplinary Teamproviding ongoing occupational therapy Assessments and interventions to address needs in Functional, Psycho-social, Cognitive, Sensory and Physical Health. You willlead the OT team which comprises of Band 5 OT's and Band 3 OT Assistants.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will demonstrate and promote our Trust Values and Leadership Behaviours in every aspect of what they do and this will be demonstrated through the leadership and daily support to your patients, your occupational therapy colleagues and wider MDT to ensure we STEP up to be GREAT together.
You will have strong engagement and motivational skills and be flexible in working with patients with complex mental health needs during their recovery pathway. The team support the patient journey of recovery from inpatient to community settings.
In collaboration with and with the support of the Band 7 OT you will be leading the OT team on a day-to-day basis within an established progressive and supportive team environment and have strong links with the Multidisciplinary team.
Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential as you will be an integral part of the MDT informing recovery progress and providing comprehensive OT assessment and reports to inform accommodation needs, package of care needs and appropriate ongoing referrals to support and signposting to appropriate support in the community.
You will be skilled with patients to support their recovery journey, confident delegating tasks to other members of the team.
You will have strong engagement and motivational skills and be flexible in working with patients with complex mental health needs during their recovery pathway.
