Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the rheumatology day case infusion unit. This is a great introduction to the rheumatology team that is well-led , inclusive and supportive.

The unit is based at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath in the Sussex Orthopaedic treatment centre and is a Monday to Friday service. The post involves providing infusion-based treatments and supporting the clinical administrative process.

It is an ideal role for someone who wishes to remain in a patient facing role that is less physically demanding than a general ward position. 

Training will be provided in all aspects of the role which can be busy and varied.

Main duties of the job

Undertake clinical administrative work to arrange infusion based treatments, including the interpretation of blood results. Administer intravenous infusions. Promote the health and well-being of patients. Maintain effective communication with people about routine and daily activities. Deliver evidence-based nursing care. Ensure efficient use of resources.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Liaising with the rheumatology nurse specialists and wider rheumatology and administrative teams for the booking of rheumatology day-case treatments. Liaising with the rheumatology nurse specialists and ward manager to ensure the safe and effective running of the infusion clinic. Liaising with service users, carers and relatives.
