The Opportunity

Are you starting your culinary adventure and looking for an opportunity to grow your skills? Join our team and be part of a dynamic kitchen that serves a variety of delicious food offerings to our hotel guests.

As our Commis Chef, you will assist with food preparation work and basic cooking under the guidance of our Chef de Parties. You will rotate through sections such as sauce, vegetables, fish, and butchery, learning from our experienced senior chefs.

Our menu features a combination of modern British and European cuisine, with plenty of feel-good comfort foods and healthy options. You will have the chance to showcase your new culinary skills and knowledge, creating memorable guest experiences.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment, preferably in a hotel setting would be desirable.
  • A passion for cooking and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant culinary qualifications are preferred but not essential as you will be part of our chef academy

Hotel

The Holiday Inn Guildford Hotel is conveniently located less than two miles from the heart of Guildford, with a quick 10-minute drive to reach the city center. Guildford station is around a mile away, with a 30-minute train journey to London.

Our hotel boasts 168 bedrooms, a top-notch conference center with 15 versatile meeting rooms, a charming bar, an excellent restaurant, and a spacious suite for weddings and special events.
