Job Title: Teacher of Food & Nutrition

Location: BB4 area of Lancashire

Start date: September 2024

Contract: Full-time, initially until February 2025

The Art and Design department is a successful and popular subject area within the school.

We are now seeking a new member of the Art and Design team with the enthusiasm and drive to continue the successes of previous years and help support the development of the department further.

You will be joining a dynamic team which offers a wide range of courses to all pupils at KS3, KS4 and KS5 with qualifications in both Art and Design offered at GCSE and A-Level. We therefore expect you to teach pupils across the full age and ability range present in the school in order to ensure the highest possible standards of pupil achievement, personal development and welling being. The post-holder will be an innovative and forward looking individual who can inspire students and contribute fully to an active Art and Design team.

Our ideal candidate will have a specialism in Food and Nutrition. We are seeking a strong, organised, well qualified practitioner with a degree and a teaching qualification who is keen to develop their own practice to the highest level and take advantage of our excellent professional learning.

You will be required to teach Food and Nutrition GCSE and contribute to the delivery of our teaching team at KS3.

Person specification:

-          Honors Degree in relevant discipline

-          Teaching Qualification

-          UK QTS status

-          A relevant qualification in food/food hygiene is advantageous

-          Proven track record of raising educational standards

-          Can motivate students at all levels of ability, thus ensuring that all students fully access the Food and Nutrition curriculum

-          Will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with an excellent track record of progress and results
