Are you passionate about connecting people to art, history and nature through new, creative and innovative ways? We’ve got an exciting opportunity you to join our team as a Senior Programming & Partnerships Officer. We’re looking for someone who can connect people to Petworth House & Park, by developing and delivering imaginative programming that engages a range of audiences.This is a fixed term contract due to end when the previous employee returns from maternity leave. At this point we cannot confirm exactly how long this contract will last, but it is unlikely to be more than 13 months. Interviews: 27 August 2024 Start date: 28 October 2024

What it's like to work here

Reporting to the Visitor Operations & Experience Manager, you’ll be part of the Visitor Operations & Experience Team and will line manage our Programme Assistant and our event volunteers.Change is taking place at Petworth House and Park and the team are looking for innovative people to join them. We’re working to update the property’s visitor offer and highlight its internationally renowned collection of pictures and sculpture, as well as its Capability Brown designed historic park and pleasure grounds. We’re striving to put our audience and supporters at the heart of everything we do and create exceptional experiences for our visitors.We’re open 363 days a year and are growing our visitor numbers, from local communities and independent adults to families, we’re proud to look after a place of international significance, but our focus is firmly on becoming locally loved and relevant too. You’ll be required to work occasional weekends and evenings for events, and you’ll also be part of a team of duty managers, working weekends on a rota basis.

What you'll be doing

You’ll play a significant role in shaping and delivering our year-round public programme of events and activities, including our big Christmas spectacular in the house. You’ll explore opportunities to work with others, including identifying new community and commercial partnerships.You’ll make sure that our programme is shaped by our audiences’ needs and interests, as well as reflecting the fascinating stories of the house and garden and the work we do to care for them. Whilst engaging regular visitors and connecting with new audiences, you'll be curious about the impact of programming, and will evaluate and feed learning into future plans to enable continuous improvement and innovation. Who we're looking for

We'd love to hear from you, if you have: experience of producing high-quality visitor programming and working with community or commercial partners to produce events and activities within the arts, culture or natural environment sectors skills and experience in being a creative leader; skilled in innovating new ways to connect people with art, history and nature experience of building, maintaining and developing partnership relationships to offer engagement opportunities to visitors, volunteers or local communities strong communication skills experience of analysing audience data and helping to feedback findings that improve and develop a product, service or idea which connects people with art, culture, nature or the outdoors.
