Job summary

To act as Personal Assistant to the GPs carrying out tasks, assisting the GPs with daily admin and referrals under the supervision of the Office Manager (Compliance). The PA will undertake a range of administrative duties supporting the GPs as well as general support to the wider team at VMC.

Main duties of the job

The following are the core responsibilities of the PA. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

Carrying out all GP requests ( sending results, booking follow up appointments, booking tests, phoning patients/ consultants) First point of contact between Admin & GPs Triage GP tasks & Docman Arrange interpreters if required and interpreter claims MCCDs/Death certs & liaise with coroner Cremation forms & liaise with funeral directors Action tasks and Docman received from admin teams & clinicians Ensuring the GPs action tasks/Docman/paperwork within deadlines Transcribing referrals & completing referral forms Arranging relevant 2WW samples & scans Sending/receiving & uploading emails ERS system Scanning of necessary documents/results Support with private work medicals Engage consult 2WW audits / UBRN audits SARS Continuing healthcare claims & providing records

We are now settled into our ultra-modern purpose-built premises post-merger - built in 2021. We are a training practice for Foundation doctors and GP trainees, with 30,000 patients, 33 consulting rooms, 2 operating suites and a private suite. We also have a training academy, daily training huddles, clinical meetings, an active PCN. A branch surgery and separate open access mental health hub in the Foundry, both located in the towns main shopping centre.
