This role will play a pivotal role in ensuring the project meets its financial milestones, adheres to lender requirements, and adds value through proactive financial insights and reporting.

  • Start date: Immediate
  • Location: Remote - ad-hoc travel required at the project site - Tilbury Docks.
  • Duration: 6 months
  • Daily Rate: £400-525 per day (outside IR35)

You will report into the groups financial controller and be responsible for:

  • Financial Project Management:
    • Act as the Finance Business Partner for a major project, ensuring all financial aspects are effectively managed.
    • Oversee the financial performance of the project, ensuring all milestones are met and reporting is delivered on time.
    • Manage the relationship with external lenders, ensuring all financial reports and data submissions are accurate, timely, and compliant.
  • Data Analysis and Financial Reporting:
    • Take ownership of financial data related to the project, conducting detailed analyses to support decision-making.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive reporting dashboard to ensure stakeholders have up-to-date visibility on financial performance.
    • Perform variance analysis, comparing budget vs. actuals, and provide insights into discrepancies and areas for improvement.
  • Value-Adding Financial Insights:
    • Conduct in-depth analysis to identify and communicate commercial risks and opportunities within the project.
    • Collaborate with the project team to create strategies that optimise financial performance and mitigate identified risks.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders, including senior management and project teams.
    • Engage regularly with lenders and external stakeholders, ensuring financial reports and communications meet their requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

    • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with 5-10 years of post-qualification experience.
    • Proven experience as a Finance Business Partner, particularly in managing projects from a financial perspective.
    • Strong experience in project accounting and financial management, with a focus on budgeting, forecasting, stakeholder management and variance analysis.
