Job Title: Machining Technician

Salary: £17.47 per hour

Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday (37 hours)

Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire

Benefits:

25 days annual leave

Up to 4% Annual bonus

Job Opportunity:

Machining technician Salvage- In this role the successful candidate will operate in the machining shop developing and documenting new and current salvage schemes to support the X300, CV12 & CV8 product lines.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

Provide technical support to the manufacturing engineer through data analytics and problem solving in the machine shop.

Providing support for continuous improvement processes

Train, coach and provide feedback to the Operations team on the machining processes.

Define and optimize machining process steps and SRS schemes based on best practice.

Review machining processes to keep team focused on key priorities and improvement objectives.

CNC (Computer numerical control) programming of new and current salvage schemes.

Submit and assist with the resolution of continuous improvement ideas.

Provide information to supervisors and managers about processes within assigned area.

Work with engineering to identify new salvage processes and schemes.

Investigate and resolve Manufacturing Engineering defects and other quality improvement initiatives.

Participate and support Failure mode analysis such as safety and process FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis) activities.

Design, develop and identify appropriate tooling for new and existing machining processes.

Carry out process evaluation to determine machining times for current and new salvage schemes.

Skills and Experience:

Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:

Knowledge of all machining processes, conventional and CNC, milling, turning, grinding, honing, drilling and spark erosion.

Ability to read engineering drawings with a strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

Demonstrate planning, organising skills, adaptability, and flexibility.

Team player resilience with customer focus efforts.

Candidates may have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:

Fanuc programming experience.

Mazatrol programming knowledge

AutoCad proficiency

Familiarity of production and manufacturing routings

Experience of new product introduction

Project management experience
