Job summary – What to expect: 

As the Section Leader of one of our teams, you will be expected to lead, motivate and manage within the operational area of Distribution at our site in Delta Park. You will take overall responsibility of ensuring that KPI’s, internal and external customer requirements, performance targets as well as quality and safety standards are met and where possible exceeded.

You will also be expected to:

Lead, motivate and manage the department ensuring service levels are maintained and where possible exceeded in compliance with organisational requirements, including operational targets, quality standards and customer requirements. Motivate, develop and inspire the Team Leaders, Senior Operators and Operators to achieve business goals.  Review all aspects of the department to ensure compliance with company and departmental procedures (including Health & Safety and GMP). Participate in internal and external audits as required to ensure compliance to relevant AVSEC/SOX/ISO/MHRA/FDA/KPMG requirements. Investigation of NCR’s and CAPA’S. Ensure that shift objectives as specified by your Line Manager are achieved within the specified time frames.  Carry out performance reviews with your direct reports (Team Leaders) and set objectives where appropriate. Manage the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the department. Prepare monthly reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment. Develop a fully integrated team culture through regular and open communication channels for example quarterly departmental update briefs, by use of BLINK (the company’s employee communication app), regular one to ones with Team Leaders, whilst providing an environment of trust and fairness through respect for others. Ensure there is an effective communication channel with cross functional departments. Create a workplace culture that is consistent with the company’s values.

Work Environment:

Working environment is a large open plan warehouse / factory building. Likely to work in an office-based environment for 75% of role, 25% of role on shop floor When on the shop floor there is constant background noise from the operation of various packaging and picking machinery. Temperatures in the warehouse can fluctuate due to seasonal variations. Personal protective equipment may be required at times May be a requirement to travel within Hampshire, UK periodically and overseas infrequently.

About you:

We are looking for someone who has proven leadership and management experience that has been obtained within a Distribution / Packaging / Warehouse Operational environment.

Experience & Education:

Required

Recognised leadership qualification equivalent to ILM Level 3  Proven leadership, management skills and experience gained from a fast paced, multi shift environment. Ability to read and understand data driven reports to enable key business decisions. Knowledge of typical company Health and Safety practices  Able to identify process waste (TIMWOODS), suggest ideas for improvement and actively participate and support CI activities and Kaizen Events.

Preferred

Knowledge of key operational and Management Systems for example Baan/WMS/WCS Experience in leading external audits to ensure regulatory requirements are met
