Working with people across the globe, our Next sourcing teams specialise in all different parts of the sourcing operation including this position in design and product development.

The ideal candidate will have experience designing on either boyswear or menswear.



Your Role:


Crafting Innovative Boyswear Woven Designs:  Stay abreast of current fashion trends, consumer preferences, and market dynamics. Use your creativity and design expertise to develop innovative boyswear designs that resonate with the target audience and ensure designs meet customer expectations in terms of fit, style, and quality through thorough research and testing.

Collaboration with Design Team and Buyers: Work closely with the design team and buyers to understand their vision, requirements, and feedback. Participate actively in brainstorming sessions where ideas are exchanged and refined to align with market demands. Foster a collaborative environment where everyone feels empowered to contribute their ideas and expertise.

Adhering to Critical Path and Meeting Deadlines:  Develop and maintain a detailed critical path outlining key milestones and deadlines for product development. Prioritise tasks effectively to ensure timely completion of design iterations, sampling, and production. Communicate proactively with stakeholders to manage expectations and address any potential delays.

Blend of Creativity, Collaboration, and Project Management Skills:   Balance your creative vision with project management skills to deliver innovative designs on time and within budget. Use project management tools and techniques to streamline workflows and optimise efficiency. Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork to leverage the diverse skills and perspectives of the team.

Effective Communication and Trend Forecasting:  Communicate your design concepts effectively through sketches, mood boards, and presentations. Utilise trend forecasting tools and techniques to anticipate future trends and stay ahead of the curve. 



About You:

Passion for Boyswear Design:  Let your genuine love for design shine through in your work, whether it's in creating mood boards, sketching concepts, or selecting fabrics and trims. Stay immersed in the world of fashion, regularly seeking inspiration from runway shows, street style, and emerging designers. 

Interest in Trends and Eye for Detail:  Keep a finger on the pulse of current trends, not just in fashion but also in art, culture, and technology. Use your keen eye for colour and detail to create visually appealing designs that resonate with your target audience.

Enthusiastic Communicator with Great Personal Skills:  Be proactive in sharing your ideas and collaborating with team members, buyers, and suppliers. Cultivate strong relationships through open and respectful communication, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Experience in Fast-Paced Environments:  Draw upon your past experiences working in fast-paced environments to navigate deadlines and challenges with confidence. Use your enthusiasm and energy to tackle tasks with determination and positivity, inspiring those around you to do the same.

Previous Experience in UK Brands or Retailers:  Leverage your knowledge of the UK market and its specific consumer preferences to create designs that resonate with British shoppers. Use your understanding of the high street landscape to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation.

Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator:  Maximise your efficiency and creativity by mastering Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, using them to bring your design concepts to life with precision and flair. Stay updated on new features and techniques to continuously improve your skills and workflow.
