An excellent opportunity hasarisen for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join the RotherhamCritical Care team as a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse in the Critical Care Unit.As a proficient Critical Care Nurse, thesuccessful candidate will act to ensure the highest standard of individualisedpatient care is delivered either at the bedside, or as a shift coordinatorsupporting more junior members of the team as the nurse in charge of the shift.You will be an expert practitioner, role model andmentor and will participate in the education and development of Nursing andHealthcare staff. You will work closely with the ward manager and seniorleadership team to provide excellence in all areasWe are a 13 bedded Unit, which we use flexibly toaccommodate level 2 and 3 patients from a variety of specialities. We are afriendly, supportive and dynamic team with a strong commitment to professionaldevelopment. Critical Care is fully committed to audit, research and forwardthinking. Main duties of the job
Effective clinical leadership throughmonitoring and implementation of standards and evidence-based practiceProvide effective management and support for the nursing team in complex andpressurised situationsAct as a visible and strong role model for all nursing staff within the unitpromoting professional practice at all times.To take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the clinical area withspecific focus on risk management, safe staffing, skill mix, co-ordination ofpatient pathways and patient safety.To deputise for the ward manager in their absenceTo communicate effectively within the MDT at all times and exhibit a calmmanner in situations of extreme workload and pressureMust have the ability to motivate staff and facilitate effective changemanagement
