Our highperforming ambitious coeducationalsecondary school seeks a qualified and passionate Head of Geographyto join our dynamic Geography department. This is an excitingopportunity to shape the future of Geography education within ourschool.

About theRole:

As Head of Geography youwill:

  • Provide strategic leadership anddirection for the Geography department aligning with the schoolsoverall vision and educational goals.
  • Developand implement a curriculum that is engaging challenging andpromotes lifelong participation in Geography for allstudents.
  • Ensure the Geography program complieswith national curriculum requirements and incorporates innovativeteaching methods.
  • Lead by example teachinghighquality Geography lessons that foster a love of the subject andphysical activity amongst students of allabilities.
  • Oversee the work of Geographyteachers within the department providing guidance support andprofessional development opportunities.
  • Monitorand evaluate the effectiveness of the Geography programimplementing improvements based on dataanalysis.
  • Build strong relationships withstudents staff and parents fostering a positive and inclusiveenvironment within the Geographydepartment.
  • Promote the importance of geographyand its relevance to the wider world.
  • Overseeand develop a range of extracurricular geography clubs andactivities.
  • Encourage participation ininterschool competitions and external geographicalevents.
  • Collaborate effectively with otherdepartments within the school to ensure a holistic approach tostudent development.
  • Contribute to the widerschool community by participating in school events andinitiatives.

  • A highlyqualified and experienced Geography teacher with a proven trackrecord of success in leading and developing Geographyprograms.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and apassion for inspiring a love of geography in students of allabilities.
  • Strong leadership and managementskills with the ability to motivate and empowerstaff.
  • Outstanding communication interpersonaland collaboration skills.
  • A commitment topromoting equality and inclusivity withinGeography.
  • Ability to utilize data to monitorprogress and implement improvements within theprogram.
  • Enthusiasm for working within adynamic and ambitious schoolenvironment.
