Epsom & St Helier Trust are looking for a Bank Band 8a Principal Pharmacist lead for the Out patient service - they will be responsible for leading the team, completing all KPI work & managing supply of medication to all out-patients.
The department will be required to provide a co-ordinated pharmaceutical service, which is broad-based, cost effective and efficient and to promote safe, legal, rational and economic use of medicines and all allied products to all its clients.
Hours will be 37.5 hours per week to start immediately once recruited onto Bank. If you are qualified, interested & available please apply to this post today.
Main duties of the job
1.To participate in, manage and develop all Trust out-patient dispensing services in line with the pharmacy and Trust strategy.
2.To ensure timely and efficient delivery of out-patient services responding to changes in national, local or Trust strategic direction or operational challenges.
3.To direct and control the work of staff accountable and ensure that this work is carried out safely and efficiently and respond promptly and appropriately to any new guidance
4. To work on both sites and align pharmacy out patient service.
5.To liaise with clinics and prescribers to improve the service provided to, and the experience of, our patients by proactively discussing issues that are having a negative impact on our service. This may include, but is not limited to, discussion with prescribers about poor prescribing practice or giving patients unrealistic expectations on when their prescription will be ready.
6.To oversee the Trust home delivery and patient counselling service.

The post holder is required to:
Work within agreed Trust and departmental policies and procedures and to accepted standards of practice. Work in other areas and on other sites in the Trust to cover for service needs. Undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time, as are consistent with the responsibilities of the grade. Ensure confidentiality at all times, only releasing confidential information obtained during the course of employment to those acting in an official capacity. Comply with the Code of Ethics of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain. Treat patients and customers with dignity and courtesy. Ensure that medicines do not fall into unauthorised hands. Have responsibility for the health, safety and welfare for self and others and to comply with the requirements of the Health and Safety regulations, including COSHH. Attend such training courses and meetings as are necessary for the efficient performance of the post holder’s duties. Essential criteria
Masters in Pharmacy Degree – MPharm 1 year pre-registration training Professional registration with GPhC* Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent

Management qualification or training Membership of Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain
