Specialty Doctor in Elderly Medicine
Working Full time - 10 sessions per week
Salary: Specialty Doctor £ - pa
This is a full-time post based at the Countess of Chester Hospital and Ellesmere Port Hospital. The current job plan is 10 Programmed Activities.
Additional PAs may be available subject to job plan agreement/participation in out of hours Rota and needs of the service. The post holder will support on the Medicine Registrar on-call Rota.
The successful applicant will be working alongside four other specialty doctors in a rotational post. The post rotates through a hyperacute stroke unit, general elderly medicine ward and frailty unit in a vibrant and expanding elderly care department. They will assist the Elderly Medicine Consultants in the care of in-patients and assessing and reviewing patients. The department is committed to supporting our speciality doctors’ career pathways either through membership qualifications or CESR.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be a full time appointment working for the Care of the Elderly Team. They will ensure Speciality Doctor cover is provided for general inpatients and the acute frailty unit.
Consideration will be given to applicants wishing to work part-time/job-share.

Assessment new patientsMonitor complex medical problemsPlan maintenance medical treatment and appropriate outpatient investigationsSupport consultant ward roundsProvide cross coverParticipate on the registrar GIM RotaThe post holder will have shared office accommodation, computer use and secretarial support.
