An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist to jointly lead the Acute Medical team at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. The team includes you with the other Band 7, two Band 6s, Band 5 and a Band 3 and they work closely with the Physios and the innovative Home First team that undertakes discharge home visits with the care agencies using a Discharge to Assess approach.

Main duties of the job

To work clinically assessing acute medical in- patients and providing recommendations regarding their ability to be discharged home or requiring some in-patient rehabilitation and liaising with all the community services available. To support your team to do the same and identify and develop your own interests supported and empowered by the Occupational Therapy manager. To work closely with the multidisciplinary team and lead and develop a most effective model and vision with your dynamic team, supervising and delegating. To contribute to interdisciplinary team management of long term disability and it's consequent problems by use of specific clinical skills to treat . To be able to identify own professional limitations and seek professional advice when necessary. To undertake responsibility and leadership for completion and implementation of clinical projects, audit or research. To analyse and interpret clinical and non-clinical information to contribute to an accurate treatment approach.

Current registration with Health Professions Council Diploma /Degree in Occupational Therapy Fieldwork/clinical educators course
