Nessy recently joined a larger group of Nordic edtech companies at ILT Education.  We plan to expand our operations, accelerating access to equitable education for children and students with SEND (special educational needs and disability) and multilingual backgrounds around the world.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our art and animation team, bringing games industry experience to the table to help from concept to production.
  • Prototype and implement new features, mechanics, and functionality to ensure an engaging and enjoyable user experience.
  • Optimize game performance, identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Test games extensively to ensure quality and functionality.
  • Work with the backend platform team to support our teacher admin portal Nessy Classroom to track students progress.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in game development to continuously improve our games.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in the games industry, developing, implementing and maintaining game features and systems, using established tools and development environments.
  • Strong understanding of game design principles and mechanics.
  • Skills to develop varied game types with an affinity for animation, audio and gameplay to enhance a user’s experience.
  • Knowledge of front-end web development technologies, graphics APIs, testing and optimising for mobile, across a range of device hardware.
  • Experience with different coding stacks and ability to transition (our current route to deploying games online is Typescript, PIXI.js, Spine animation, GSAP, in a Webpack or Vite development environment, but we're not fixed and we may prototype in any game engine) Experience with machine learning, voice, or AI is a bonus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Proficiency with source control and merging code, working effectively in an agile team of front and back-end developers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
