Job summary
We believe in supporting the wellbeing of our staff with a sustainable day. We have 11, 15 minute appointments AM & PM + 1 visit with a daily clinical huddle so you get the chance to discuss cases and chat to the team. We run total triage and promote continuity of care to help you get to know your patients. We are a large (22K) training practice in a lovely new building (with air con). Due to maternity leave we are looking for a 6 session fixed term salaried GP (with BMA contract) to cover. You will be paid £11,077 per session with pro rata 5 days study leave and 6 weeks annual leave.
Main duties of the job
You will cover the list duties of the salaried GP who is on maternity leave. You will have 11, 15 minute appointments AM and PM plus a visit. You will cover the pathology, prescriptions and docman for that list BUT we are workflow light as our docman is outsourced to ensure you only get the documents you really need to see. We have a fully established prescriptions team and pharmacists to support prescribing and a care coordination team to support coordinating your patients' care. We have a buddy system to ensure clinical administrative duties are covered when you are away.
You will have protected time to attend our in house training programme and local protected education events.
About us
We are 6 partners and 9 salaried GPs with a lovely multidisciplinary team including 2 PAs, 3 pharmacists, 1 FCP, 5 nurses and 3 HCAs .We also have GP trainees, medical students and other learners. We are a training centre for women's health offering practical training for Menopause (FSRH and BSM certificates) and DFSRH/LoC with FSRH. We offer enhanced minor ops in house. We are lucky to have the ICB lead for diabetes as one of our partners to ensure that we are all supported in caring for our patients living with diabetes. We have a fabulous anticipatory care hub that supports our PCN's frail and complex patients. We have a visiting Urgent Response Team which helps keeps our visit numbers low.
We value education and support our staff with regular training events and a daily clinical huddle. You will also have a GP Partner to mentor you when you join.
Job description
Job responsibilities
To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary see the fill JD attached.
