London, United Kingdom Rethink Mental Illness Full time

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Partnerships Officer to work as part of our Corporate Partnership Team.

Imagine being part of an organisation whose common purpose is to help those who are severely impacted by mental illness. We believe that everyone should be treated with respect and dignity – and that’s why equity is one of our core values. We draw on the expertise, unique perspectives and lived experience of our people – regardless of who they are or their background – to help us become inclusive and anti-racist employer, campaigning organisation and service provider that reflect the diverse communities we support as a mental health charity.

The Partnerships Team sits within the Fundraising Directorate and manages relationships with a large portfolio of businesses across the UK to help them realise their potential to support mental health across the UK. This includes: Charity of the Year, Cause Related Marketing, Sponsorship, Strategic Partnerships, Workplace Mental Health and Training partnerships

Whether it’s fundraising or working with us to train colleagues to understand mental health in the workplace, we listen to our partners’ needs and build lasting, sustainable funding relationships.

Partners we have worked with include:

  • Lloyds Banking Group
  • Johnson & Johnson
  • Skipton Building Society
  • Bank of America
  • And many more

Giving everyone the tools to lead their best possible life is not something Mental Health UK can do alone.

How you will make a difference

Mental Health UK brings together national mental health charities working across the UK. We bring together the heritage and experience of four charities from across the country who have been supporting people with their mental health for nearly 50 years.

As a Partnership Officer you will support the Partnerships Team to deliver excellent relationship management to our partners by identifying and maximizing opportunities to raise funds and proactively identify and engage with potential partners to diversify and enhance our partner portfolio.

You will be responsible for maintaining strong working relationships with your own portfolio of corporate partners, supporting them with their fundraising activity, hosting mental health awareness days and knowledge sharing on how to improve workplace mental health.

The role will see you gain experience in a variety of ways; including managing lucrative partners and increasing new business skills.

You will be responsible for working collaboratively with various internal teams such as:

  • Partnerships (your team)
  • Wider fundraising team
  • Marketing & Communications
  • Workplace Mental Health and Training Team
  • Programmes

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion

Diversity is important to us and we appreciate difference through difference, inclusiveness and belonging. It gives us a deeper understanding of the world, our society and the diverse communities we’re working with. By including everyone, we are able to draw on the unique experiences and expertise of our people to help shape and enrich our workplace and improve our services. One way we are doing is through our valued staff networks which play a critical and highly valued role in keeping us focused on creating a diverse, inclusive and engaged employer.  We recognise and support staff networks for our Black, Asian and minority ethnic and our LGBTQIA+ colleagues. We are also proud to have been awarded Disability Confident Employer status and are a signatory to the Business in the Community Race at Work Charter.

Becoming a truly anti-racist organisation

We have an ambition of become a truly anti-racist employer, campaigning organisation and service provider - and in our efforts to influence policy and wider societal factors impacting on mental health set out in our anti-racist statement . We have designed a multi-year anti-racist programme of work contained in our Race Equality Action Plan which demonstrate our intention to hold ourselves accountable and be judged on our progress on becoming a truly anti-racist organisation.

We therefore actively encourage and welcome applications from everyone, including applicants with lived experience, those who are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (or questioning), Intersex and (asexual) (LGBTQIA+), people with a disability, and people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds.
