Job summary

Due to movement within the team, we have an excitingopportunity for a Senior Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join oursupportive team and facilitate effective communication for all.

The successful candidate will support the successful deliveryof Speech and Language Therapy services in a special school in Bolton, joiningour team of SLTs and SLTAs on site and accessing support from our wider team.

We are happy to receive applications from SLTs wanting to develop their skills over time with the support and training we provide.

Main duties of the job

To provide a speech and language therapy services to children directly and through support to their families and the multi-disciplinary team.

Job responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Speech andLanguage Therapist (SLT) to join our supportive team and facilitate effectivecommunication for all.

Communicate SLT has been commissioned by a special school in Bolton to provide SLT services for children and young people aged 3-19 years. This includes supporting universal best practice within the setting and providing services directly and through others to support the children and young people to reach their full potential.

We are looking for a SLT who is experienced in working with children who have significant or complex needs and those with a diagnosis of Autism. The post canfocus exclusively within the school or involve a mixed caseload if the successful candidate is motivated and able to travel to the Fylde Coast area.

The successful candidate will work in partnership with children, young people, their families and thechildren's workforce. You will join a supportive team both within the school and amongst our wider team, and will be ableto shape the innovative services we deliver.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Degree or Masters. Registration with RCSLT and HCPC. Completed Newly Qualified Practitioner (NQP) Framework.

Desirable

Training relevant to the role, Elklan, AAC related courses.

Experience

Essential

2+ years experience working as an SLT. Experience working with children with autistic spectrum disorder. Experience of using AAC including signing and Communication Boards. Experience working as part of a Multi-agency team.

Desirable

3+ years experience working as an SLT working with children, young people who have Speech, Language and Communication Needs, their families and the Multi-agency team. Experience in using Microsoft Office 365 suite including Outlook, SharePoint and Teams
